The Simple Things

Though technically on land labelled "Peepeepoopoo" there lies a cabin atop the winter village mountain that is anything but what its plot suggest.
The inspiration for it started many years ago. When our own MauiPanda was a lot younger and would quote, "travel with my family to the mountains during the winter." According to Maui they would enjoy the holidays at a family friend's cabin. And every single year they would all take a walk upon arriving and "pass this one really cool A-frame house." That one A-frame house has now been reinvented and reimagined in block form here on Fox Wizz.
And although the story is amazing and this cabin of simple materials is gorgeous to behold, I do think there is more here than the surface suggests.
To some on the server this cabin is capturing a style of build often overlooked in Minecraft. Simple and aesthetic it is not trying to be an "all-in-one" base. It doesn't need to be anything more than a lovely mountain cabin. And yet, if needed, it can also easily be many different spaces in one. It is, in my opinion and for lack of a better word, Wrightian.
And that thought immediately consumed me when I saw this build. In fact, I think this build could be compared to world famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian designs. These homes were designed to be affordable and efficient. They would use simple building materials which, so much like this design of Maui's A-Frame, included things like wood and native stone.

I must say, no matter what we call it or compare it to this cabin is fantastic. Simple small builds like this can add so so much life and vitality to a world! It is full of meaning, beauty, and value.

I know personally, there is a lesson here to narrow the focus on some projects. Add the small things and give builds the atmosphere and flexibility they deserve. And with all the materials we have access to on this server, keep it simple. Use them as a small accent enhancement, not the main event where it becomes way too much.
Outside inspiration will always be the best, and memories turned reality give builds like these true meaningful lasting value.
These are the lessons I will walk away with from this build and be so thankful to Maui for sharing with the server. What lessons do you all think you can take from "Maui's A-Frame"?
